Our commitment to Sendai Beef

How we do we make such delicious beef?
step1
The secret behind the taste, texture, and perfect balance of fat and red meat of our Sendai-beef is that we raise our cows on feed made from 100% natural ingredients, sourced right here in Miyagi prefecture. Additionally, while many livestock farmers buy their calves, all of ours are born in our farm. This allows us to personally ensure our meat meets the A5 quality standard.
Our commitment to Sendai Beef
step1
Have you ever heard of “A5” wagyu?Among Japanese wagyu beef, “A5” is the best of the best; there is nothing better than this. Let me tell you a little about how this rank is determined. The main factors are a meat’s marbling, firmness and texture, as well as the luster and coloration of both the meat and its fat. A given meat product is ranked from 1 to 5 based on these criteria, and 5 is the best. Maybe you’ve heard of other famous wagyu beef brands such as Matsuzaka or Oumi. These are brands that may even sell “A1” beef, but still do well because of name recognition. However, to sell a product as “Sendai Beef,” nothing less than “A5” is acceptable. Sendai Beef is the only brand that is like this, and the market for it is limited, as a result. However, it also means that when you buy Sendai Beef, you know that you are getting the best possible meat.
Helping everyone to enjoy our products
step1
Ever since 1993, we’ve participated each year in Sendai’s “Syokuniku Festival,” held in the local wholesale market to promote the importance of food safety. Our goal is spread the joy of beef to everyone and encourage the consumption of domestic beef. At the festival, we roast an entire Kuroge Wagyu cow as a performance. Last year, more than 15,000 people visited us.
Business partnerships with Thailand
step1
Marui are not sold exclusively in Japan; we also put a lot of effort into exportation to foreign countries. Beginning in 2018, we started exporting to Thailand. The president of our Thai business partner himself has visited the exhibition in Thai, cutting and grilling the meat in front of buyers, and letting them taste it. His efforts have helped to make Sendai beef more popular. However, we would like to introduce Sendai beef not only to Thailand, but also many other countries such as Vietnam, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Singapore and China.
